Law Offices Of Shahnaz Hussain – Lawyer in Brea, CA

I would not recommend this lawyer, I had a bad experience. She accepted to work on my case (teenager adoption). I paid part of the total amount she will charge me for the case. Five days later she called me to let me know that is was too late to proceed with the adoption (which was one of my first questions for her) and that she will keep almost 33% of my money because I made her open the office in a Saturday (they're open M-F and I can only go in a Sat.) and also because she had to make some calls to asked other lawyers about my case. She has no experience. Also, the lawyer and her secretary would called me one after another for the same questions/reason. Obviously, there was no communication between them.

I called and spoke to Dan on the phone about my case. He seemed ok on the phone and asked me to send him my judgement to look at and he would get back to me. That was 8 days ago. 3 days ago left him a voicemail and still no return phone call. My recommendation – call another attorney.

TelePacific Communications – Lawyer in Brea, CA

I have mixed feelings. I signed up with them for internet access and VOIP services for my medical practice The service has been reliable over 98% of the time. The problem comes when the industry and technology improves over time and competing companies come calling with more competitive packages. Once you have signed the contract with TelePacific, you have no way out short of paying for every month until your contract expires. I guess their argument is that when we sign on the dotted line, we are signing away our right to switch to a better company, committing with no way out.It would be a worse, more frustrating situation if the service started slowing down or becoming more and more reliable or if they kept hiking the prices a lot, but I have to admit, it's still satisfactory, but what I have learned is that it's bad enough if better offers emerge, but now you are stuck with no options. Over time, technology often gets cheaper with better options. You won't be able to take advantage of this until your contract expires, unless they voluntarily lower their fees to match what's out there as prices drop universally. I doubt they will.If you can try out their services to see if you like it, then go ahead, but if you have to sign a contract, be forewarned that they will aggressively enforce every line of the contract to their maximum advantage. If you can somehow bargain down the length of the contract, then it might be OK to try them out. My suspicion is that they won't go for it.I understand that this is just part of a trend where the "overlegalization" of human interactions has screwed over the common person. Frankly, when I sign up for a website or install software, I don't read every single final word of the Licensing Agreement and I don't hire a lawyer to review it for me, and I've gotten away with it. With TelePacific, I would warn you to read every last line of the contract and if any of it makes you nervous about how it might be twisted to hurt you, beware. Anything you sign can and WILL be used against you.I'm going to just stick with them until my contract is up and then go for one of the many other deals out there. Competition is a good thing. A long-term contract that has not safety clause allows a company to be immune from competition for the terms of the contract.

Legal Aid Society of Orange County – Lawyer in Brea, CA

I needed legal assistance a couple of times over the past 7 years. One time I felt hopeful when I was given an appointment time but when I arrived there was no record of the appointment as the person who set it up failed to follow through.I still have yet to figure out what criteria qualifies someone for help beyond the phone call besides a low income. I thought maybe it was just me but a family member recently lost custody of her 3 year old to his abusive father because he had attorney and she did not! She followed Legal Aid advice (who did assist with TRO forms) but said she didn't need legal representation for the response hearing. Well the "judge" seized the moment to tear her apart ignoring evidence sufficient for restraining order previously granted by the same judge who now only had ears for father/abuser & his attorney! After a couple of hours research I've learned if family law code~3044 was adhered to this outrage would have been disallowed! I would have paid to see this judge try to slither out of it!Why wouldn't Legal Aid at the very least arm someone with knowledge which may, in the end be their saving grace standing in front of a judge after Legal Aid so confidently insists no attorney is needed when clearly there was!!Now we desperately need help for the appeal in the "Best interest of the Child" instead of courtroom politics that's taken him away from a safe and secure home!

The Law Offices of Larry H Parker – Lawyer in Brea, CA

Bad Service. Called them when I got into an accident, their lawyer took my initial call and never received any follow up from my lawyer. I was not getting any returned calls so I had to resort finding a local lawyer to complete the settlement. All the while they were still paid 25% for doing absolutely nothing. HORRIBLE Firm. Your better off finding a local lawyer you can visit in person should something go astray.

Linda K. Ross – Lawyer in Brea, CA

In my experience, Linda Ross is a not a lawyer I could recommend. She charged too much, gave bad advice, and then failed to complete my case. She displayed greediness, not legal savvy. My divorce dragged on and cost almost $40,000. I gave her all of my life savings and she came after me for more $ after leaving me hanging legally. I had to find another lawyer! Divorce is already hell and, in my situation, Linda K. Ross made it worse.

Glad to see that there are some people who have been able to obtain help other than long waits on the phone for limited advice that isn't very helpful. The one time they did give me more detailed instructions by phone…I did what they said I should in defense of a retaliatory eviction and instead of helping me it made the judge angry then the big corporate apartment company's attorney objected to any further mention of Legal Aid. Needless to say I lost and was evicted 3 weeks later. It seemed the judge had his ruling before we started since he would not look at any of the evidence I had to support my defense because I didn't have an attorney so it was over in 5 minutes. Now I still need to file a civil case against that company and time is running out. I have learned Legal Aid is a waste of time maybe not for others… but it was for me.I have needed legal assistance several times in the past 7 years and only once did I get past the phone call and given an appointment time (it was for the eviction case too) and when I arrived there was no record an appointment had been made! They state they help low income etc. I am disabled on Social Security (how could I be more qualified as low income) and was basically ignored when I had valid legal issues that had to be dealt with…I sincerely hope they help you instead of falling through the cracks like I apparently did.Good Luck

Well after I read the reviews here I'm glad I had the following experience…I went in to seek legal advice related to my business and related laws around contests and raffkes etc. Its a long story as to why I would need such advice and won't bore you with it here. Anyway..I went in and coukdnt get past the idiot girl with too much make up on atvthe front desk. She seemed to busy plastering make up on her face with building tool's to give a damb and simply cut me off when I tried to talk, assuming I was sellibg something. Their loss and my gain it would appear. Thanks to all reviewers and I agree….stay away! !
